Chuck here. Last night, Chelsea and I went to listen to Yuja Wang and Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 by the New York Philharmonic. It was my first piano concerto experience, and it was great. What a technicality Yuja Wang possesses! Mr. Van Zweden was wonderful too, throwing his body for a powerful and energetic performance. It was an unforgettable night for sure.

Chuck here. The much anticipated Olympus OM-D EM-5 is being released around the world, and this is the model I have been thinking way too hard lately on whether to make a purchase. As a camera geek, I am constantly on the watch for newly announced cameras by some top notch forward-thinking brands but this one really seems to fit my needs. Here are some pros and cons I have gathered through various sources.
Pros:
- Splash Proof. Rain and Snow OK!
- Compact size. Can carry to the top of Machu Pichu and not feel like your shoulder being ripped off of your body.
- Fairly good noise performance. Great for indoor shooting.
- Fairly good video performance for amateurs.
- Retro design.
- 5-axis shifting image stabilization. Olympus’ most proud technology.
- Tilting touch screen. Easy to move around focus points.
- Improved dynamic range.
- Has EVF! This is a 200-dollar worth of innovation!
Cons:
- Tad highly priced.
- Not so great video performance for enthusiasts and pros. Still has rolling-shutter problems.
- Kit lens aperture is too slow. f/3.5-6.3
- To some people, the sensor size.
- Some noise from the shifting sensor.

Chuck here. Recently I’ve seen many FIATs in the city. I adore the design but I hear that they break down easily. Oh well. It is a perfect car for the most densely crowded city in the States though!
